Hello, Town of Matthews! We are back with another update and we have been busy out here! If you’ve driven by lately, you will have seen that the building is really beginning to take shape. So much has happened since our last update here on the website so allow me to fill you in.

Metal framing started on the east side of the building a couple of weeks ago. While this work was going on, our plumbers were working away on the west side of the building, and then in the apparatus bay, to complete the underground plumbing. Our concrete crew completed the interior footings on the west side, followed by the mason as they set CMU blocks for some of the walls. Not long after, the slab was poured on the west side, making this area available for framing as well.

Once our framing crews wrapped up the framing on the east side, we were able to begin setting trusses on the east side, as well as the apparatus bay. Roof sheathing started on both of these sections last week and the mobile crane returned today to set the trusses on the west side. Setting the roof trusses is a huge project milestone…not to mention the space it has cleared up on site by getting them off the ground!
