Happy Fall, Town of Matthews! It has been a minute since we updated you on the project and things have really been moving along nicely onsite.
- We were able to pour the concrete slab for the apparatus bay after completing the install of underground MEPs and the trench drain.
- Exterior sheathing was installed allowing us to begin moving forward with the process of waterproofing the building. Tyvek materials were installed on the all areas with the exterior sheathing board and the CMU of the apparatus bay was covered with bituminous dampproofing. Windows were installed as well, with careful care taken to waterproof these openings! We also built the gables/canopies that extend out from the exterior doors.
- Next we got started with our brick veneer! The brick has been installed up to about 4 feet where the precast ledge now sits. Some sides of the building will continue with brick up to the top while other sides of the building will have siding installed that will eventually be painted.
- Once the roof sheathing was installed, our roofer was able to get the shingles on the building which really started to bring things together. Also on the roof, our HVAC contractor has installed their penetrations.
- Work has been trucking along inside of the building as well! Our MEP contractors have been onsite installing electrical conduits and lines, HVAC ductwork, and plumbing piping. The sprinkler system is being installed throughout as well.
- Lastly the Juliet Balconies were installed in the Apparatus Bay as well as the stairs for accessing the mezzanine areas!
We look forward to sharing more updates with you as work progresses!
